Fragrance-free skin care: A gentle way to improve how your skin feels
The terms "fragrance-free" or "unscented" are increasingly common on (digital) cosmetics shelves. But what does "unscented" actually mean? We tell you everything in this article: What skin types benefit the most from the use of unscented natural cosmetics and why fragrance-free natural cosmetics are a good idea.
When products are labelled "fragrance-free" or "unscented", it means that they contain neither synthetic nor natural fragrances. However, it does not necessarily mean that they are odourless. Indeed, many raw materials and substances that appear on the ingredients list of cosmetic products are naturally fragrant.
Can deodorant be fragrance-free?
Yes, in fact there are scores of unscented deodorants on the market. A fragrance-free deodorant contains no added fragrances and its main purpose is to inhibit the growth of odour-causing bacteria and even absorb BO without masking the skin's natural scent.

1. Less irritation:
Some people are sensitive to fragrances found in many cosmetic products. The best: fragrance-free face cream, fragrance-free cleansing foam or fragrance-free moisturising cream, e.g. from our basis sensitiv Calming range. They can help you avoid skin irritation.
2. No allergic reactions:
Fragrances are among the most common allergens in cosmetic products. Choosing a fragrance-free face cream or deodorant can minimise the risk of allergic reactions. When buying your natural cosmetics, it is a good idea to check that the list of ingredients does not contain any substances you are allergic to.
