Mallow – a king among healing plants
As a medicinal plant, this flower already has a long success story – and it isn’t likely to end anytime soon! Here at lavera Naturkosmetik, we also rely on the wonderfully caring properties of these beautiful flowers, and use their high-quality extracts in our very own organic flower butter alongside other ingredients.
Wild mallow (Malva sylvestris) belongs to the mallow family. The plant can reach a height of up to 1.4 m, and blooms from May to September.
It was cultivated for centuries in monastery gardens as a medicinal plant and its healing effects for ailments such as respiratory diseases, insect bites and inflammation of the mouth and throat quickly became known. It grows best in sunny places with dry, nutrient-rich soils (e.g. on the edges of fields, embankments or fallow land).
